Bring on the Pinterest boards and tiny outfits for a stylised newborn portrait shoot
Many clients come to us looking for our team to guide them with their newborn shoot style and feel which we are always happy to do. We are now finding more and more new mums and dads approaching us with fabulous shoot plans and ideas for their new little bundle. We were delighted when we were asked to shoot a sweet stylised newborn shoot for little Sofia.
Cristina and her husband were referred to us by both a friend who has come to us for both a maternity shoot as well as a family shoot as well as the Kensington Wing in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London where she delivered. Once she had seen some of our portraits, she was sure Julia would be able to work her magic!
Now that I see the results of the photo shooting, I wish I had some similar portraits of me as a newborn! Having a family portrait is extremely important as it allows you to keep the memories of the most meaningful moments in life.
Cristina appreciated the care and patience Julia took with their newborn shoot and capturing Sofia in each set up. She describes here as ‘extremely professional, experienced and dedicated to get every single detail perfectly right.’
After much time spent preparing for this shoot, creating bespoke outfits and searching on Etsy and making good use of Pinterest before the session, we were able to transform this little one into a bunny, sunflower and even a butterfly, just as mum and dad had requested.
Family Fact File
How old is your child?
She was 14 days old on the day of the shoot (We definitely recommend these shoots – especially stylised newborn shoots like this one, within the first 10 days!)
What’s his/her favourite toy?
She is very small, so for the moment she does not play with many toys. Although, she loves a teddy bear from Cath Kidston.
What’s your top parenting advice tip?
Well, we are not that experienced yet, although I would suggest to try and behave as you have always done even when you have kids. In addition, unlike many new parents we are going to ask our parents to help us out and baby sit one in a while, when we need some time for us. We believe that taking some time for the two of us will make us feel more relaxed and, in turn, make Sofia feel more relaxed too.
Where’s your favourite family spot in London?
I would recommend the Clifton Nurseries in Maida Vale – a lovely place where to have lunch in an informal, yet stunning venue.
