All three children now have newborn photos by Julia Boggio
It’s been a true pleasure getting to know this beautiful family and watching them grow over the years and being able to take newborn photos for each child. Each shoot has been unique in itself but we have been able to bring the images together using poses and arrangements that compliment each other. Along with the individual shots of baby, we have taken family portraits during each session, giving the family a lovely visual story of how they have grown together over the past few years. We love thinking of how the albums and frames act as an archive for families, a history for future generations to look back on.
Having visited Julia for multiple shoots now (practically family models now!), Nathalie and her family are well accustomed with preparing for a shoot like this. We created multiple looks and set ups for the session, including the two older boys. It was important for this shoot that we were able to take a good variety of shots of baby on her own, some with her brothers and individually with parents. Often with baby number 3, there are lots of family and group shots, so we were sure to give her the individual attention her brothers would have had for their newborn photos as well.
If you aren’t as confident in organising outfits and dressing your family, our team can certainly help you in this department. We will discuss your shoot and your preferences in detail prior to your shoot date and map out the session. This can often include setting up Pinterest boards to get ideas going or bring in one of our professional stylists to aid in the process and overall shoot.
To avoid disappointment, it is a good idea to make a provisional booking based on your due date. This date can then be confirmed/rescheduled later if necessary. This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions and discuss your shoot. We understand babies decide to come early or sometimes late, so we always ask clients to plan ahead so we have a bit of wiggle room with booking! We suggest around your 20 week scan is a good time to get in touch.
We’ll then plan an approximate date for your shoot for when your little one is between 5 and 15 days old. During this early time, babies typically sleep deeply for much of the day, usually only waking for a feed. What’s more, very young infants are very flexible, meaning they can be placed into a variety of adorable newborn style poses. After around 2 weeks, babies are generally too awake to pose and the opportunity is lost.
