When long-time Boggio Studios client, Melanie Corbett, dropped off a batch of her homemade marshmallows on Valentine’s Day, it was love at first bite for me. Eating them was like hosting a lemony party on my tongue. They weren’t firm, like store-bought marshmallows, but rather soft, squishy and full of flavour. I loved them so much that I immediately ordered a batch for the goody bags at my daughter’s birthday party.
Having photographed Mel’s wedding in Italy and both of her children since birth, I know her pretty well and I understand how important food is to her. I’ve watched her pass on her love of cooking to her little girl, Florence, who is the youngest gourmand I know at 4 years old. For this reason, we thought it would be fun to capture them sharing their culinary passion while making the most delicious marshmallows I’ve ever tasted.
A photo shoot centred around an activity that you love to do with your child is a great way to create a lasting record and an enduring memory.
“The thing I loved the most when making mummy’s marshmallows is that I get to use the mixer and lick the spoon and get sticky!!! Marshmallows are yummy.” – Florence, age 4
“There is nothing better than making something delicious for your family, but seeing the delight on Florence’s face when she gets to lick the spoon is exactly why we do these things.” – Melanie
