Without a doubt, autumn is my favourite time of the year to photograph families and children (including my own). Many of our clients choose to have an annual shoot in October or early November, to mark the growth of their little ones.
What makes autumn so special? The obvious answer is the colour of the leaves, but it’s actually a combination of this plus the quality of the light. The sun stays lower in the sky, so we can take beautiful backlit photos and soft portraits under trees.
It’s also an easy time of year to coordinate with your clothes. Reds, yellows and oranges go nicely with greens, blues or purples. You really can’t go wrong.
Our availability for autumn shoots on weekends is quickly disappearing, so please do get in touch to book soon.
We can meet you for your autumn photography shoot in any London location: Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park, Hyde Park…anywhere with leaves aplenty. If you’re looking for something really special, then we can also meet you at a pumpkin patch to create a fantastic family story around picking your carving pumpkins for Halloween. I did this with my daughter and husband last year and it’s one of my favourite shoots to date.
