At the end of January we made our way to The Societies’ Photographic Convention (SWPP), an internationally attended, annual event where amateurs and professionals alike gather for a week of educational talks and master classes, trade show (I always love seeing our work with our suppliers!) and an awards dinner to top it all off.
I made my supporting role debut alongside Julia (of course!) on the last afternoon of the convention, giving a talk on the luxury photography business. With a full room, it was really great to converse and ‘talk shop’ with so many other photographers and people working in the industry – thank you to everyone that came along and helped make it a constructive chat about the portraiture business, we loved hearing your stories.
Julia entered a few of her Fine Art Portraits into the event’s 20×16” Print Competition and we were delighted to see that quite a few had been recognised as finalists.
One image in particular did exceptionally well and was awarded first place for Children & Babies Portraiture category. It’s one of our favourites – we even have our own version framed in the studio.
We’re currently preparing for an exciting Fine Art editorial next week – we can’t to share it with you all.
