Not too ago, we travelled to Upper Farm Equestrian and called upon some fabulous models, both equine and human, to join us in a day of shooting with Julia behind the camera and at times in front of the camera via Periscope.
They say, ‘Never work with children or animals,’ and we repeatedly work with both and love it! On this day, we were so lucky to have amazingly patient (and brave – all that setup and fuss can be a bit intimidating) horses AND children making the whole experience nothing short of a dream. If you are interested in having your four-legged family member photographed at your home/ yard, be sure to get in touch. In the meantime, you can have a look at our pets gallery, here.
A big thank you to Ali Collins of Upper Farm Equestrian in Henton for providing us with a brilliant location for this shoot and her whole team for working so hard to make our equine models look beautiful for their close ups. You can check out their Facebook page for the latest buzz around the facility.
Julia says, “I grew up with horses, so I’ve wanted to photograph them for a long time. This shoot was a dream come true for me. I wanted to do something more stylised and artistic, using a studio feel at the farm rather than doing it outdoors. I look forward to doing more equine photography in the future. I took my 4-year-old daughter for her first horse riding lesson the other day – which she loved – so I have a feeling I’l be spending a lot more time around horses in the future.”
In case you missed it, here’s the first spread of our shoot featured in this month’s issue of Smallish magazine.
