As one of London’s top family portrait studios, the team at Boggio Studios love coming up with creative and fun ideas for family shoots that might include children of various ages, ranging from newborn all the way through to teenagers heading off to university. It is, however, such a pleasure when families really put some thought into the preparation for their shoot. We recently had a gorgeous family join us who had done just that. Prepped & ready, this family of 3 brought some fantastic ideas to the table and we were able to collaborate and produce some brilliant shots that seem to put a smile on everyone’s face (seriously, I think everyone in the studio just squeals with delight whenever we see them!).
Kelly and her family were referred to us by a lovely client of ours. Since we had photographed her friend’s family multiple times over, Kelly knew our work and thought that our style would be capable of realising the fantastic shots she had in mind.
She describes the Boggio team as “warm, friendly and professional, in addition, open to new ideas, creative and easy to work with.”
“What I loved most about our experience at the studio was the enthusiasm of the staff. Everyone was very warm and welcoming as well as being very professional. Not only did we always know what was going on and how things were going to progress throughout the whole experience, from the shoot to the finished product, people were very friendly and professional throughout the process.”
Boggio photographer, Hannah was on the case for this shoot and collaborated with Kelly to get the quirky shots they were after.
“She was very friendly, confident and good about conveying her plan for the shoot, and showed flexibility and creativity when it was called for. We were very pleased with her work and her ability to get our daughter to smile and laugh for two hours!”
A baby’s first year is such a special time to have photos taken, since they are constantly changing and growing at an incredible rate. There are a few different times we recommend for families to bring in their little ones, and around 6-7 months is certainly one of them. This age is really great for photoshoots as they are extremely expressive, giggly but they can sit up, and let’s face it…they usually can’t go very far – perfect for taking photos! We were thrilled with the way the portraits turned out and could hardly wait to share them with the family. I get really excited before viewings because I know how happy I’m about to make clients feel, unveiling these beautiful portraits that I know will stay with them forever. Having a family so invested in the shoot just increases that excitement.
We asked Kelly why having great family portraits is important to her and we couldn’t agree more with her response!
“I believe it is important to have at least one great family portrait on the wall to celebrate being a family. When a family photograph is on the wall of a home it serves as a reminder of the good days, especially during the bad days, it is a representation of a family looking forward to a bright future as well as it being simply a wonderful physical creation of memories and emotions as a family during the time the photograph was taken.”
